Committed From The Start
- It all started with a group of local businessmen trying to source quality PPE for the UK Mask Force charity at the start of the Covid pandemic.
The outbreak of Covid in the UK showed just how unprepared the country was. We were all advised to wear masks, but there were not even enough for the NHS, so what do you do ?
A group of local businessmen decided that they would not just jump on the bandwagon and import overpriced, substandard face masks. Only high quality products would do, no matter hard they were to find.
Helping UK Mask Force
- Dr Abraze Khalique and group of ex-military friends and similar minded people who wanted to address this lack of PPE formed the UK Mask Force charity.
Home Shield Products Ltd were pleased to be able to provide type IIR face masks, hand sanitiser and other PPE to the UK Mask Force charity, which they donated to those organisations that were desperate for PPE.
It was at this point Home Shield Products Ltd approached the charity with the idea to manufacture a British made IIR face mask which would enable us to allow our front-line workers access to the quality of goods that they deserve.
Purpose Built Manufacturing Plant
- New machinery, new staff and a new facility would be needed to produce the quality face masks that we wanted to produce.
Heavy investment ensured that a new clean room manufacturing facility was soon built and was ready and operational within a couple of weeks of the machinery arriving.
Staff were trained and we started production of the Home Shield Products face mask in the UK.
Testing, Testing, Testing
- We can say that we produce a quality face mask in the UK, but it means nothing if they don’t pass the test.
We were so convinced that we were producing a fantastic quality face mask, that we did not just submit them to one testing facility but to two.
SGS and 4ward Testing have tested our face masks to EN 14683:2019 +AC:2019 and both companies have confirmed that the Home Shield Products IIR face masks exceed the required BFE filtration level of 98%. In fact, all tested specimens :have shown a BFE :filtration level of 99% or higher.
Add to this our MHRA approval for surgical/medical face mask single use and our ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, and you are assured of a quality UK made face mask from a quality UK company.
